Yeah, this dude, The Dream.I put out his promo from October to at least December of last year. Shorty is a Ten, his first single, wasn't all that poppin'. I mean I promoted the heck out of it, but it was just the same 'ol punch left, right, snap ya fingers song.
Then this dude puts out Falsetto and I'm like, "Maaaaan!" I'm totally changed of my opinion of this dude. Cool hook, good lyrics, and bomb beat! It hits in all the right places. Plus it's a slow groove so you know I get at this at the clubs with the models...
Backtrack to about 2 months ago and 50 Cent puts out a diss track called I F**ed Your Girl and it blows up because, why you might ask? It's a Fat Joe diss. Refer to March 3rd & March 6th of the blog for more info.
The beat is cool and the song is hot, but it's actually the beat to The Dream's I Luv Your Girl. I found this out this weekend and it caught me. It actually fits Dream's style and it's a tight jawn.
I find it funny that noone mentioned that was The Dream's beat when 50's song came out. No forums, no radio word, NUTHIN!
Anyways, I got to give this dude a second look, he deserves it.
And if you didn't know this guy also wrote "Umbrella" for Rhianna and "Bed" for J. Holiday.
